ENGAGE YOUR CUSTOMER IN CONVERSATION

If you risk boring a new acquaintance at a cocktail party with simple “yes” and “no” questions, why would you try that strategy with a customer? The most effective questions for information gathering are clarifying questions, such as ones that are open-ended. The speaker will appreciate your interest when you engage in a conversation, starting off with, “Who” What” and “Where.”

Our Story

More than 100 years of collective sales, marketing and distribution experience guides the Gotham business. The company’s roots come from a strong knowledge of sales, from pounding the pavement to earning senior-level positions in the country’s most prestigious boardrooms. For 25 years as one of Admiral Corporation’s leading executives, Sam Schwartzstein, rose through the ranks from salesman to Vice President. In 1972, Sam created Gotham’s predecessors (Ahr-Dan and Larsam). More than 30 years later, Gotham has grown into one of the largest independent distributorships in the United States.

Today, Sam’s son Danny Schwartzstein leads Gotham as its president and guiding force. Like his father, Danny learned the business the old fashioned way, from the ground up. He carried the bags and called on local shops while building relationships and getting to know the people that make this business work. Danny brings a complete understanding of new technology to the table, creating versatile business systems that save Gotham customers time and money.
